This is the agreement between you and me about how budem.sk is used. It is deliberately short. If something in it does not sit right with you, write to me before you open an account.

budem.sk is not a company. It is one person's project, built first because he needed a calendar like this himself.

What this is

budem.sk is a positive calendar. You pick one thing you want to do (or keep not doing) and mark every day it happened. The days add up, and they never go down.

It is not a medical service and not a treatment. It is not therapy, not counselling, and no substitute for a doctor, a psychologist or an addiction specialist. It is a count of days that you keep yourself.

If things are going badly and you need help, talk to a professional. In Slovakia the round-the-clock lines are Nezábudka: 0800 800 566 and IPčko: 0800 500 333. In an emergency call 112. Wherever you are, your local emergency number comes before this website.

Your account

  • You may open an account if you are at least 16. Younger than that, only with a parent's consent.
  • You can sign in with an e-mail and a password, or with Google. Both lead to the same account if it is the same verified address.
  • The password is yours to look after. Do not reuse one you have elsewhere, and do not give it to anybody. If you suspect somebody got into your account, change it and write to me.
  • One account belongs to one person. Do not share it.
  • Do not open an account on somebody else's e-mail address.

Your content is yours

Calendar names, notes, day ratings, the letter to your future self — they are yours. I claim no rights over them, will not use them for promotion, will not publish them and will not give them to anybody.

The one exception is what you publish yourself: when you create a public link to a calendar, anybody you give that link to can see it. What such a link shows and what it never shows is written in the Privacy notice.

Technically I do of course have to store and display your content — otherwise a calendar would not be a calendar. Nothing beyond that is done with it.

What not to do here

  • Do not write or upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes somebody else's rights.
  • Do not use public links for harassment, threats, or spreading other people's data.
  • Do not try to get into somebody else's account, work around the sign-in, or load the server beyond ordinary use.
  • No automated account farms, no bulk sign-ups, no scraping.

If any of that happens, I may limit or close the account. Where possible I will write first.

It is free

budem.sk is free of charge and free of advertising. Nothing is sold here, no data is sold, and no ad network is used.

If that ever had to change, you would hear about it by e-mail beforehand, and whatever you have already written down would stay available and exportable.

Availability — and what I am actually promising

I do my best to keep the site running. No availability is guaranteed. It is one server, one person and no night shift. Outages, maintenance and bugs can happen.

So: keep your own copy of anything you would mind losing. I do back the database up and I try to make it unnecessary — but I cannot warrant that data will never be lost.

The site is being developed. Features may appear, change or go away.

Liability

The app is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for damage arising from using it, from it being unavailable, or from data loss.

What that does not mean: I am not excluding liability for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, nor for personal injury — the law would not allow that anyway. And it does not mean your data does not matter to me; it means one person with one server cannot give a guarantee he could not keep.

Your statutory consumer rights are not affected.

Closing the account

  • You: at any time, in the settings, with one button. It deletes the account and everything attached to it — calendars, days, notes, moods, badges. No questions and no waiting period.
  • Me: only if these terms are broken, and where possible I will warn you by e-mail first.

If I ever shut the service down, I will announce it at least 30 days in advance, and you will be able to get your data out until then.

Privacy

What happens to your data is set out in full in the Privacy notice. It is part of these terms.

Changes

These terms may change — when they do, so does the date at the top. For a material change I will write at least 14 days beforehand. If you do not agree with it you can close your account; that is the whole of the "penalty".

Governing law

Slovak law applies. Disputes that cannot be settled by e-mail belong to the Slovak courts. As a consumer you also have access to alternative dispute resolution — the list of bodies is kept by the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic, and the Slovak Trade Inspection is one of them. If you live elsewhere in the EU, the mandatory consumer protections of your own country still apply to you.

One last thing

This calendar counts what went well and stays quiet about the rest. Write down things you would not tell anyone — they are yours and they stay yours.
